My guess is that deep down they wish they had the balls to flaunt themselfs to a extreme.

I've had some very fun nights out in the company of flaming fags, crossdressers, and dykes of all shapes and sizes. They play by a different set of rules, and it can be entertaining and liberating at the same time being with people outside of ordinary social mores. You also don't get chavs/neds/macho fuckwads in overtly gay bars, so there's none of that stupid guy stuff to put up with. And generally one "no thanks, not my thing" is good enough and everybody's cool.
Hell, I lived in Thailand and half the time I couldn't tell what gender people were supposed to be let alone anything else. All very confusing for my conventional brain. But if I'm not planning on having sex with them, I don't really care what gender they are.
I'd rather be around fairies that are comfortable with themselves than insecure redneck wannabe alpha males.
Good deals done with all these guys

It's funny one of the "macho fuckwads" I work with is afraid to walk in front of gay bars for fear that he will be grabbed and pulled in side... We have one gay bar here... and it is SO "extreme" you can find people in there... reading... books... on a saturday night...

snipelfritz wrote:OMG I am so offended that you would pigeon-hole heterosexual in the term "straight." We are a diverse group of people who are attracted to all sorts of things: Big butts; Small, tight butts; Big flappy boobs; Healthy round boobs; The Small titties of a preteen girl; Vaginas; Eating vaginas; Looking at viaginas; Touching vaginas; Infiltrating vaginas with one's erect penis; and masturbating to the thought of all of these things.

Yeah, obviously joking. Bang whoever you want. I suppose I'm a 4 if 5 is totally straight and 1 is totally gay. Plenty of people assume I'm gay shich makes me kinda wish I were partly into dudes in a weird way.

I voted straight,...but prefer "always forward never straight".

Pretty much the last part of Samsonite's post here (with regards to assumptions), to the point that for a moment; even I myself wasn't sure,....then I made out with a dude and answered my own question,...which is "yeah I much prefer pussy",...maybe if he had shaven that face stubble off.

I am one of these men that was brought up by a woman and didn't have a whole lot of male role modeling in my upbringing,...so I identify myself as being slightly effeminate,....maybe a little ambiguous. I confuse people,...and that's fine with me,....I'm quite comfortable in my sexuality,...but I love that people don't know or can't tell. In the end it's not really any of their business anyway now is it (if I were trying to attract a mate then it might be,...and I'm not intimidated by women so if want them to know,...they'll know).

I think that you'll pretty much find that most people are just afraid of homosexuality (that's why they are called homophobic). "Don't get near me and rub your gayness off on me" as if it's some sort of contagious disease. People aren't comfortable enough with their own sexual identity that they are afraid that they could be pulled over "to the dark side",...like they are going to open Pandora's Box.

To that end I think people that are overly obsessed with other peoples homosexuality are probably gay themselves and as the result of bad advice,....maybe were a little too cut off from other people,...or at least diverse people,...or were in some sort of activity that told them that homosexuality is a bad (YES I'M TALKING ABOUT THE RELIGION, but I'm sure it's not the only one); to understand that if they are gay,...it's unhealthy to repress it (or you know you can just do what John Gacy did,...have sex with young men then kill them and bury em under a crawl space to hide your sins).

Essentially they are afraid of themselves,...and what sort of backward shit is that? (THANKS CHRISTIANITY).

Okay I'm painting with a broad brush here,...but I don't really feel that I'm that far off the mark.
You'll find quickly for me that if anyone is intolerant of something,...I always attribute it to fear.

I am bi but obviously married a dude and had some kids.

I have a bunch of thoughts on why some queer folks are so very OUT about it, but I am too tired to post coherently. I'll try tomorrow when I've had some sleep...

i'm gay. :hello: always have been. never felt it mattered much, but i'm understanding more and more the importance of being out. i've never exactly aligned myself with gay culture, but all that obnoxious flaunting and the more flamboyant stuff you see in pride parades is maybe a little more understandable if you see it as an extension of the reaction to the oppression that gay people suffered up until the 70s. stonewall uprising is a decent documentary about the stonewall riots and circumstances surrounding that era. check it out if you're interested. :thumb:

It's still relatively socially acceptable to hate gay people. And I don't get that. My best friend of 11 years came out to me about a year and a half ago. And the funny thing about it is,I thought he was hust, like,a mysogonist lol. If you go by the Junior Woodchuck "How to spot a Gay" guidebook, you look for mannerisms,lisps,blah,blah...Dude talks, walks, dresses, slams beers, and fights like a man. He even likes for his lovers to be manly.
What I'm really ashamed of is the level of homophobia in Rap music. It's all cool to call somebody a faggot when you're a rapper. But in theory, that's the same thing as someone using the "n" word in regards to them. Doesn't make a whole lotta sense. I support peoples' rights to love/fuck who they want, and if the rest of the world would, then living here(not just the deep south, but the world) would be far less shitty. Who fuckin' cares? I'd rather people fall in love/fuck each other than kill each other,ya know?

That's exactly why I have a problem with people who give the whole "I don't mind gays but why do they have to be so upfront about it?" speech. There wouldn't need to be pride parades if there weren't still people who think it's something to be ashamed of.

That documentary looks interesting, I'll check it out. :thumb:

I'm straight. No problems with LGBT. I don't have a problem per se with flaming/flaunting/flamboyancy (whatever you want to call it) but I do think it is kind of tasteless, in the same way I think overt displays of affection between straight people in public are tasteless.
