Pedal cosmetics are never a deal breaker for me and very rarely make my socks roll up and down. If I have to choose between paying more and/or waiting substantially longer to get something bling vs the faster/cheaper/non-bling version - well non-bling is going to win 99% of the time.

And I say this with no offense to cloudscapes - while I think the Sonic Crayon graphics are fine, the SOUND is the thing. Ya dig?

I of course agree with this, but there is a certain level of love that goes into making something look cool as well as sound cool. We are artists by nature, people that fuck with graphics and do enclosures are just wanna bee painters. hahaha. No but really, I love art. That's why I do what I do and I'm sure mr Sonic Crayon loves art too because he is great at it. So it's like putting a piece of yourself in each pedal.

I get stressed out. if I were to license things, I imagine the potential for stress to be an order of magnitude higher, because of problems with communication, the huge amounts of money involved, risks, and potentially making other people miserable because a fuckup of mine.

at least, when I'm doing everything myself, I control everything, even if it means I can't produce many, or frequently. lose-lose
I entirely co-sign this, tbh.
yeah i read that, and i get it, but that probably also means i'll never see a sonic crayon pedal in real life.
Yeah, that's true for me too. There are records that I'll never own for the same reason -- doesn't mean I don't dig limited releases.
good deals are here.

Finally watched that delay demo. SWEET JESUS. How is it that every pedal cloudscapes designs is among the most insane, brilliant shit I've ever seen/heard?! I'm definitely sad that the odds of me ever owning one are slim-to-none, but the noisemaker/lover of odd sounds in me is happy just knowing they're out there, being all crazy and trippy and mind-melting.

With other things, sometimes the aesthetics and utility are at war. But even in the Sonic Crayon instance,
the beauty of the enclosure doesn't make the pedal "more fragile" or "less usable".
Ultimately the creations should reflect the aesthetic and sensibility of the creator. Which, in this case,
they sure do.

In the past a gear maker/artist in a certain location would be known in that area (that's how the
geographical music "scenes" used to be). In the past, Sonic Crayon would be a local powerhouse
creating quirky stuff that local bands in that area would be using. So the general population in the
world in that case would only hear awesome music and wonder how it was created.
It's just that these days the internet allows everybody to hear about how awesome these pedals are,
even if our chances of playing one or owning one are slim to none.

HAHAHAHA, ...jesus, I forgot people are actually like that. He sounded like satire for a second. Trying to incorporate a glitch pedal for P&W. if he manages to succeed then I guess I'll step inside a church for the first time in over a decade.

Yeah, I don't at all agree with the buy-just-to-flip thing, but ultimately I can't dictate what people do with them once they're bought, nor can I really predict.

It's a standard function of scarcity. :idk: Even people who bought it to play with it probably reconsidered after seeing the ridiculous sell value. Hell, every time my bills are coming up and I don't have the cash on me I can't help but look my Goatkeeper nervously.

Anyways, I just brought the link up to alleviate the scarcity somewhat, if one of you have a stash under the mattress.

I've read posts by that guy before. And this post is located in a thread called "Those Pedals You Never Use But Just Can't Sell..."
So I would guess that chances are slim to none that anyone will be able to buy any of those 3 pedals off that guy and still
maintain a modicum of their self-respect and dignity throughout the transaction.

But perhaps I'm just not looking at things the right way. The sentiments in that guy's posts often seem so maliciously flipperific
that it's easier to believe it's just satire. But his vibe is so persistently icky, like ebola of the digestive system. :omg: :omg:
Who could live with themselves after taking a "joke" that far?

So much want for the Mechanical Sun. Any ballpark price notion so I can squirrel away money in hope of getting one?
