misterstomach wrote:i voted for you in the bilf. i think the board pic was a little different, but i knew it was yours. so many nice boards, but so few i could imagine playing through. basically, a nice dirt section and the presence of either a ghost echo or a dmm caught my attention.
Thanks dude - I need to check and see how I did. I was middle of the pack last I looked, which isn't like to have changed.

My board actually was a bit different in the pics. It was pre Arrows and QM so I had my Twosome and Mastortion on the board to see how they fit into the mix.

I know the feeling about voting. I don't understand most of the noise/synth/drone stuff, so I was like you - looking for boards with tasty dirt and a good selection of delay/verb/mod.
misterstomach wrote:you just need a ghost echo. best reverb out there, particularly with dirt. why big box though, it's the same circuit either way? i prefer smaller, given the choice, but suit yourself.
Big box for the big toanz. They can't cram all that mojo into a small box

I recognised your board from the Mastortion, I need to vote yet though. That middle board category is fucking tough man.

Yeah - I've never seen another one in the wild aside from Kayzer back in the day. There honestly can't be more than 100 of them.

Yeah by the time I'd cottoned on to them, the wait list had become indefinite.

Seemed like a very short window of opportunity - I imagine he got overwhelmed by the demand for the Mastortion in combination with everyone at TGP shitting a brick over the smaller Swamp Thang he released at the same time.

He recently started making the Swamp Thangs again, so who knows, there may be another run of Mastortions on the horizon.

That could be cool.
Is that era of Mastodon still cool with fans of Mastodon?

For the record, its still cool with me so...

tanks for the Arrows thoughts gent's, I want to try one but it sounds like the Naga is doing that function for me, and I don't need to be buying extra stuff right now.

I am very satisfied with it, I just put in a a NOS RCA 12au7 tube and I am digging the added clean headroom on it.

It probably isn't. I really kinda want to find a 'new' Mastodon fan and play Call of the Mastodon or Leviathan for them just to see their reaction.

Yeah, sounds like it's covering similar ground. I can imagine the boost pedal rabbit hole is expensive and subtle.

In my experience, New Mastodon fans dig Old Mastodon, they just don't have the reflexive shudder that comes with listening to the new material after 'being there' sonically for the old stuff.
good deals are here.
