I'm pretty excited for the stores opening here. I could get weed now but I don't really have the urge to smoke like I used to. I just want to walk into a store and say "I would like to purchase one marijuana cigarette good sir, a reefer." and have the dude ask me what kind. will be a wonderful day.

Yeah, what's that like? Please elaborate! A friend from Seattle brought some nice medical stuff down for the Seahawks/Cardinals game here a while back.

I would like to know how one gets legal permission to grow for commercial enterprises, and what kind of limitations are in place for it, among other things.

Also, what about for experimental use, perfecting recipies for treats and drinks and stuff? This will be important information for small businesses and entrepreneurs. They're already developing bottled cannabis energy drinks made from different strains for different types of buzz/energy/relaxation. Shit will be bigger than beer, I think...can I start a microcannabrewery? Microstrainery?

we have the pot clubs where you can get a membership for hellza cheap then legally buy from them. they've renamed part of Oakland to Oaksterdam since there's like 3 blocks full of clubs. i don't know a lot about it though since i don't smoke up. i'm boring.

01) those fools are STRAPPED. yes, it's just happy fun time green leafy stuff they sell, but it's still at the weight that they are drug fucking DEALERS. i knew of a guy that went to rip off a (non-legal) pot dealer at his house and was surprised that the guy selling pounds had guns on him and muscle. didn't end well. the clubs are like that but allowed to have noticeable fortifications. i've been spacing out on my phone in Oakland a few times and had big ass doods come out and tell me to move it on down the street because they thought i was casing the place. with obvious barely hidden firearms.

02) the CA gubment is shady as FUCK. they tried to turn down some people from legally purchasing a firearm because they had Can-I-Bust Club memberships. most people i know that smoke would rather buy from a dealer because they're afraid of what might happen by being provably a smoker of herb later in life. job/arrest/rights wise.

Your last point there, oh bendable one, is a valid concern. Basically this has become a states rights issue and the fedz have not unleashed the fuzzz, yet. The "medical" side of things worries me as there are records kept of who and what. The recreational thing seems less ominous for the casual consumer but the business owners are still taking one hell of a risk. Of course if it works out the pot pioneers stand to be set for life. Look at history, when prohibition ended the had "medical" booze, and they brewers who got in on that had a huge head start.

I totally hate the idea of a "medicinal" system being used as a step towards legalization. It seems like medical use in Cali is just a fucking joke.

Might as well just legalize recreational use (which I am all for) at that point.

i honestly think all drugs should be legalized. take that money out of enforcement that doesn't work to contain it and incarceration thet punishes people that want to get high, put that into treatment and education centers. get rid of most of the crime associated with it. let people make their own fucking choices in life.

treat it like alcohol. legal to use, harsher punishments if you fuck up under the influence.

Honestly , I don't really care for weed culture so I'm not that tuned into what's going on. But what I've been hearing is that dispensaries/medical users are kinda getting screwed over in this, the State is only granting a certain number of licenses to certain people (in the headlines they're calling it the lottery), dispensaries have to be x amount of miles away from schools/parks, people selling weed are having a hard time with banks since they're federal, some cities/towns are taking it upon themselves to have ordinances where they won't have any stores sell in their town, meanwhile some places in Seattle are doing straight up delivery even though it's technically illegal cuz they don't have licenses, cops say they don't care 'cuz it's not a priority, blah, blah, blah, blah....

It's a little expensive here, but man the strains available are pretty fucking good! Plus being able to go in and buy anything pot related and only have to show my drivers license is kinda nice.

The thing is, I'd never use enough, even with just one plant. Plus roommates in the army. I respect them enough that I don't want to risk anything for them. Technically I still could, but it's just not worth the hassle for me.

I will be growing tomatoes, jalapenos, and other vegetables this summer though.
