I need some help with setting up a bass amp. Our old bassist had/has an Ampeg B2re and EBS Neoline 2x12 (neodynium speakers). He's left the band, but he's gear's still in the rehearsal room. Just had an audition with a new bassist, and she's pretty god damn awesome, but she hasn't played in a band like ours (soundwise) and the settings the old dude had didn't really help her in the mix and the amp has like a 6 million band EQ no-one really understood. So I turn to you, dear Kitten Roomers - what should I do to the amp to make it sound good (if possible - internetz seems to confirm that it isn't one of Ampeg's best amps). Pretty sure Sandra is using an ESP something with active pickups. It had lots of knobs.

I'm doing a KT88 amp plus The Elements, the other guitarist is doing a JCM800. Neither of us have heaps of bass in the mix. Drummer has a monster kit with 2x22 inch bass drums. We play metal, tuned to D, and I guess mix wise we all like what Gojira is doing. Just thought I'd throw all that out there for reference.
What the shit should I do with the buttons and knobs and eq and stuff on that amp to get a good bass sound? What is a good bass sound for progressive (hi Behndy) metal? Any and all help is appreciated dudes.
