has this already been translated into german or are you fluent in japanese? the english release isn't set till the fall, can't wait.

i just finished murakami's after the quake. highlights for me were the bonfire story and the end of the dancing one, especially. i'm not really super into the short story format, but it was a nice quick read. i only have one of his novels left (south of the border, west of the sun) so i'm trying to stall until 1Q84 is a little closer to coming out

going to start this tomorrow

i just finished Camus' L'etranger

i think it's really good, but really sad and tragic.... worst part is that i have a friend that has been diagnosed as a mild sociopath and Mersaulte kinda reminded me of him

I've just started Ringworld.

Interesting setting, story and world, but it suffers from what many others in the hard sci-fi genre suffer. Characters and relationships seem un-fleshed-out, superficial, only there to hold the greater story together.

Step into my office...

Let's see...

Things I have read recently:
Neuromancer, by William Gibson
The Dirt, by Neil Strauss
To Air is Human, by Dan Crane
Chanur's Endgame, by C. J. Cherryh
Sundiver, by David Brin
And Another Thing, by Eoin Colfer

I needed a break from serious reading, which is why there is a book about air guitar and a book about Motley Crue. The rest are scifi which is just very enjoyable. Just been too tired though to read much serious nonfiction or literature.

Finishing up On the Road, I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Next is The Brothers Karamazov, Post Office, or Ham on Rye. Not to forget some poetry sprinkled on the side.

a classic quick read, by George Orwell: the Animal Farm. Probably familiar to the majority (it should, too).
