If you ride a bicycle on the regular, than an Ebike is a good investment. I dunno what 20mph translates to... not all Ebikes are slow either. It depends on the battery, the weight you're carrying and the import laws in your country.

20 mph = 32 kph
My comment was implying that I would like to eventually get to where I'm going. I think an e-bike would a death sentence in my city, not from hate crime  , but that the oversized SUVs and trucks wouldn't even see you as you were crushed into the tread of their tires.

I live in a very bike happy city, I've seen what happens when bike and car connect  It did not look like fun for the bike... The rider didn't look too hurt [meaning not in a puddle of blood and broken bike] but they didn't look unhurt either, it was hard to tell from just rubbernecking.

i dunno if anyones heard the story but earlier this year
but there were a pack of bike riders on the highway and someone overtook them in front then slammed on there breaks and all of them got owned by the car then he took off

and it was a sea of bike parts and hurt people
and no passing cars stopped to help them and insted people yelled abuse at them e.g
