...And it is goooood. Anybody else rocking one of these things? It's great cuz it's a one time investment and I'm good to go! No license required, no petrol (that's gasoline, to the uninitiated), no problems! I'll take some sexcellent photos of it and post them so that you may drool over it's magnificence.
Are you jealous yet?

Why does top speed even matter? I'm not racing the things.
My guess is he'd need to it to drive on roads that weren't school zones
I don't know the rules in the States but in Canada, you can drive on any street with a posted speed limit of 80km/h or less and you have the right to a whole lane. If you ride a bicycle on the regular, than an Ebike is a good investment. I dunno what 20mph translates to... not all Ebikes are slow either. It depends on the battery, the weight you're carrying and the import laws in your country.

20 mph = 32 kph My comment was implying that I would like to eventually get to where I'm going. I think an e-bike would a death sentence in my city, not from hate crime , but that the oversized SUVs and trucks wouldn't even see you as you were crushed into the tread of their tires.

But It defeats the purpose of the bike, IMO. I use it for transportation yes, but I also enjoy/use the exercise. It's nice getting up huge hills, or riding 30 miles (48 kilometers) knowing you powered through that shit. Would be fun though, don't get me wrong...poor mans moped
