Re: Boss loopers= i love them, and they're really built like tanks. I find the classic big boss-style footswitches on THE small RC series or the old RC-20/RC-30 are the best thing on a looper, I'm soo comfortable with those. I went through the manual of the new units a couple of times, and, while they are surely very flexible, they didn't clicked my GAS.
Apparently glougloufx is putting the final touches on a looper, curious to see what they come up with.
My general statement about loopers is that... "The perfect Looper doesn't exist yet, and maybe never will".
I used to have a Looperlative LP1, which was AMAZING! But it was a huge 19" rack unit, which I controlled with a RFX midiwizard footcontroller. Not really light weight and portable...
That's why I got the Infinity. 2 stereo loops, not as deep as the LP1, but I had to compromise, and this looked like the best 2 stereo loops pedal on the market at that point (and I think still it is, if you forget few flaws) and works flawlessly for my ambient sets.
The only downside is that it has this always ON limiter, which will abruptly cut down your loop volumes when the sum of both loops surpasses a fixed threshold... that's why I never use it for noise applications (there I have a more rough setup using a Boss RC3 and a EHX1440 in series, but it's great to have veriety).
The other device that makes me sometimes wonder is the Boomerang 3. But from the paper I'm not so impressed with its general workflow, few things (like stacking/overdubbing) seams to be quite counterintuitively made.
