I'm happier with their output than most of the industry. People expect companies like EQD, Chase Bliss, Meris, Hologram to release revolutions not utility items. The more creative brands/people are always judged more critically than others, so it's natural to feel an initial letdown when they don't reinvent themselves at each turn.
They haven't added MIDI or expanded presets yet (Pyramids has 5), so in a sense they're not at the front of the pack. In that regard, there is room for advancement. At the same time, the last couple years of EQD has been good to me (got Pyramids x2, a Space Spiral, Aqueduct to go with about 15 previous pedals). If they embraced bigger boxes and a more powerful platform, that'd be a welcome change for me. However, the control terminology/features don't really support a shared enclosure----like putting a Transmisser, Afterneath, and other algos into a big box would mean there'd be a lot of 'value 1' or 'value 3' pots.
