When I transitioned I had to pick my own name. That was a curious sort of situation. I had been named after my father. I was tempted to keep the same first initial but couldn't find anything that fit. I wanted to avoid trendy names but apparently parents started using similar variations of what I chose at around the same time. Now I go to all these kids events with my daughter and I always hear parents calling my name.
If I was a different sort I would have chosen something unpronouncably gaelic.

One of my colleagues gave his son the middle name "Danger", just so when he's older he can say to people that Danger is his middle name... I have a feeling he might regret doing this in about 15 years time!

Invisible Woman worked as a contractor in public schools in Buffalo for years...she worked with twins named Greg and Gregory...and someone named Achilles Heel.

One of my friends talked for years about giving his kid the first name Cap'n. I think his first and middle name would have been Cap'n Laserbear.
