The new Chase Bliss pedal is gold. My money is on fuzz.

Bummer. I hope it's not a fuzz and it's something exciting. Chase Bliss does way too many cool things to fuck around with fuzz.

But imagine if his fun mind found a cool way to fuck around with fuzz.

I'd rather him fuck around with anything else. Bitcrushing, Envelope Generation, VCA+Envelopes, Filters, Digitally controlled Sample Rate Reduction, Morphing Octave Generation. Literally anything else.

I mean, I love fuzz (tm). But it's true, it's not an innovative ground for pedals.whoismarykelly wrote:Fuzz is boring as fuck. There I said it.

I agree for the most part, but I also love all the variations there are of dirt. Would also rather something else from Joel, but I'm sure lots of people will be happy with some breakup

It's true that most of the innovation around fuzz lies within design / features and not really actual sound. Though I think INFANEMs are unimpeachable in terms of soundInconuucl wrote:I mean, I love fuzz (tm). Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

I agree with this like 99.9%, but uhhhh, the Pretty YearsInconuucl wrote:I mean, I love fuzz (tm). But it's true, it's not an innovative ground for pedals.whoismarykelly wrote:Fuzz is boring as fuck. I mean, that's not just a fuzz of course, and that's what makes it so versatile. But with CBA the ability to ramp fuzz parameters in real time without interacting with the knobs at all is a pretty nice innovation, wouldn't you say? It's not like they'd forget their dipswitches if they are releasing a fuzz. I would like to see something else, but I wouldn't complain about having a fuzz that could automatically raise & lower its gain/bias/EQ. Maybe that's just me though

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)
I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Re: The relatively early NAMM 2017 thread
I came across three new goodies today. The afore-mentioned golden Chase Bliss, a tweaked CBread foundation overdrive, and this synth-inspired filter from EHX. Fugly? --Sure, but for $137, I might give it a whirl. The Blurst should be available this month; no street date is available on the others.

Pretty Years is based on the WASP filter design, I'd be hard pressed to call that a fuzz first and foremost. I think it does have some sort of OD/Fuzz design since it has mutliple gain stages as well, but the WASP filter is super well known for being able to distort well.baremountain wrote:I agree with this like 99.9%, but uhhhh, the Pretty YearsInconuucl wrote:I mean, I love fuzz (tm). Re: The relatively early NAMM 2017 thread
The idea is cool but what you would end up with is either a tremolo or a modulated wah or a phaser or whatever that just always has dirt on it. Its less cool and more gimmicky in practice. See the Cusack Tap-a-scream.baremountain wrote:I agree with this like 99.9%, but uhhhh, the Pretty YearsInconuucl wrote:I mean, I love fuzz (tm).
