You know,Iblame...if indeed you were sincere and not wanting to squabble with elbandito, then let's get back on topic here. I dunno the whole deal behind you guys' beef, but let's try,at least to keep this thing civil. There truly is one key element that brought us all to this site-the love of fuzz,a love unrivaled by the Romance -period writers and the weavers of the myths of yore. If you want to rise out of your own ashes, like the mighty phoenix,it's your prerogative. But we've all noticed how you've made snarky comments on threads before that were unwarranted. Therein lies the issue. So-that being said, everybody cool????

elbandito wrote:floating opera wrote:hey now el_bandito. read any good mythologie books lately: got any you wanna RECOMMEND.
well there's the one about the little douchebag that never learned his lesson and kept making himself look stupid...
One day in I<3Fuzzgard, this funny-looking little troll of a forum user decided that he would pop up and start posting irrelevant things and derailing topics with nonsense. Tomdin, the highest of the forum Gods, was a lenient god and not one to smite an upstart for stupidity, as he felt that even the stupid deserved a chance to live. This displeased several of the lesser forumites (the equivalent of biblical 'Angels') and one in particular - one called ElBan. ElBan was not as tolerant as the mighty Tomdin and decided to take it upon himself to show the little upstart troll the light, with the help of a few other well-respected forumites.
Unfortunately, the douchy troll just couldn't understand what ElBan and others were trying to explain to him, and he kept up with his trolling, derailing and general not-coolness and he caused several threads to suffer because of his uncaring. Eventually, after many, many, MANY annoying posts, the douche realized that he had alienated himself in the forum and decided to restyle himself with a new moniker and try to re-enter the gates of I<3Fuzzgard. The thing he didn't count on was that unlike himself, the forumites were not stupid and could check his IP address and block him, his posts and his PMs to prevent him from ever spreading his douchiness in the forum again.
ok, i am late to the party as i was enjoying my birthday and a bunch of new fuzz!!!
bandito = classic
lesssummersopera just who are you trying to impress with your douchebaggery??? why did you not ask ghosty for suggestions as this is his thread and go right to bandito with goofy font??? do you sit around and giggle at our responses??? i love your hyping of the fuzzhugger brand and tom does awesome work but i dont get you... are you or are you not our friend??? we dont mind debate but we care less for trolls...

aww... i'm sawwy, Bloo.
I do know a little bit about mythology, actually. The story of Enlil & Enki. Do you know much about those guys?
Also, I recently learned a little about (and I might be completely off here) Satan, his daugther Sin - aka, the incestuous mother - and their child Death. It sounds like an interesting story.
I often wonder about how much the mythology of different cultures parallels each other... like the creation myths of Abrahamist religions and those of the Near East (India, specifically).

Enlil and Enki-Are those from legends of the Innuit? Satan,Sin,and Death came from Milton's Paradise Lost, which I recently read,I believe. Most creation myths are the same song and dance,so most often they parallel each other. But it's cool that we got off topic, because(whispers:) it was kinda fun

Paradise Lost, eh? I've heard a lot about that book recently... I should check it out.
Enlil & Enki are of Sumerian/Babylonian origin. Anu (the supreme god) had two sons, Enlil & Enki. Like Cain & Abel, the brothers had a rivalry, which caused a whole lot of trouble for the world*. Enki is the main subject and was "the source of all secret and magical knowledge of life and immortality." http://www.pantheon.org/areas/mythology/middle_east/mesopotamian/articles.html
*Another place where myths collide.
I think the most well-known Sumerian mythological story is the Epic of Gilgamesh, which features Enkidu - it's a long read but it's a good one.
I never really got into Greek & Roman myths but I'm not sure why. Some of the Norse ones are cool, mostly because of all the drinking, fighting and destruction, which always make for good stories.

Claude Levi Strauss takes a stab at this very topic in his essay "The Structural Study Of Myth". Heavy and amazing stuff. -> http://courses.essex.ac.uk/lt/lt204/strauss.htm
PS - Being half-Greek and growing up in the age of the original Clash Of The Titans, I love the crap out of some myths. Seven Labors Of Hercules was a childhood favorite. In later years, I love the idea of personal mythology and constructing individual systems of meaning and representation. Like how Mellowtone uses all of those cute talismanic dot-screened animals for instance. Creates kind of a world for their sonics.
PPS - People have also said that Joseph Campbell's "The Power Of Myth" is an awesome series on the cross cultural significance and phenomenon of mythology. -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Power_of_Myth

Part 2.
Low and behold one day long, long long ago like the great 100' guitar cord the Buddy Guy "The One Who likes Polka-doted Strats" ELBAN THE TROLL-SLAYER come upon the great username changer who after posting only six hundred and sixty six times changes shapes, ELBAN THE TROLL-SLAYER gave forth a great yowl and did fix his left-handed all-seeing eye at this one who is of otherwise unstable in their idea of who they really are and therefore festers under their bridge of internet snarkery and did blast him with his wrath which made all his distortion turn to a modeling amp version of pseudo-clean.
