Shot of a cable:

I recently got into pedals and needed some patch cables. I also wanted to find a cable manufacturer that was able to create custom cables. I love the woven covering on some cables, and I also prefer cables that use lead-free solder. I was having a bit of an issue finding these types of cables in the mainstream market, so I started looking at custom cable companies.

I learned about Covenant Cables on The Gear Page. They were offering a 50% discount in exchange for an honest review. So I sent a message asking if they could make cables to my specs. At this point, I had emailed other cable makers, and they either said they couldn't do it or that it would be expensive.

I got a response back quickly, and to my surprise, my dream cable was a go. Mogami cables, lead-free solder, nice Techflex covering. And the price was a steal--I was quoted $10-$15 per cable.

After a bit of chatting, I asked about trading in, since I'd seen that as an option on the site. I had a Small Clone I was trying to trade, and I figured I'd give it a shot. David (owner of Covenant) was happy to take it in. While I didn't get 50% off, I got to move a pedal I wasn't using.

So in the end, I got a total of four patch cables, and all I had to pay was the shipping cost of the pedal. They sound great and take up almost no space thanks to the pancake connectors.

If you need any kind of custom cable work done, then I suggest you hit up Covenant Cables. I think there's still a 50% off offer for patch cables (should be on TGP). But the regular prices are insane anyway. Crazy good customer service––David's an awesome dude––and a lifetime guarantee.
Needs more buzzwords. Here's some helpful advice I found online: http://www.startupchamp.com/robust-acti ... advantage/

But, hey, glad you're here. :hello: In my first post, I mentioned JHS, and they seem to have forgiven me. :idk:

I could make you guys quality cables for 9.99-14.99 too if you'd like. That's a deal compared to the tone sucking competitors wimpy cable.

I only source mine from the best of places, but I won't tell you whereeeeee!

Hell of a way to land on a gear forum. :)

Sorry dude, didn't mean to come out as a jerk. You just posted an actual review of something that inspired instantly lighthearted jokes on all things so highly appreciated probably somewhere else. So, don't take it personally, don't mistake the dick jokes and seemingly arrogant attitude and shit for an insult. It isn't. This is ILF, the Wild West of gear forums, we have a LONG history of ridiculing transparent sounds, Dumbles, Klons and such over priced Tube Screamers. And there's nothing personal to that.

And You're welcome, hope to see You around, I hope You enjoy it here and find new friends here, some of which are without doubt the craziest mother fuckers on any gear forums around.

ALSO: people probably actually appreciate Your "fuck You guys" attitude of Your answer here more than on any other gear forum.

Yeah I think Ian just needed to do a bit of lurking before posting. That's all.

Yup, honestly think Ian just made an honest mistake. He got the same flak elsewhere too.

If he did something more along the lines of comparing it to something else, or maybe something that sounded less like copy. Perhaps making a post in the GAS thread or any of the other cable threads we have, instead of a whole topic.

For a decent cable review style, check out JustNick's rattlesnake cable review.

That's indeed what he was referring to, except just with more fuzz.

 Yeah, I believe even that song could be redeemed, if properly reamped with ungodly square waves and shit until it's all gnar-gnar and squealing like a pig.
