Well, Sedona is about 45 minutes south of Flag, with all the red rocks and hippies and whatnot, and Cottonwood is about 20 minutes south of there.

I treat knives as tools and don't fetishize them, but my Fällkniven A1 just have a special something to it. I only do minor bushcrafting and hiking but I feel ready for the apocalypse or wrestling a moose whenever I use it.

I need a good sharpener for my Cold Steel ak-47. Its the non serated one. Nothing fancy, just something to sharpen it so I can use it for work.

Any decent wet stone if you can keep an angle will work fine. Something like the Worksharp field sharpener would provide additional help, and gives you options. I have the powered version, along with a lansky set, and various other things. Pull through sharpeners work great in a pinch, are fine for most people (and dirt cheap), but they tear up the edge of the blade.

Looking to pick up an inexpensive (less than $100) folding knife for EDC. I was looking at either Spyderco Tenacious or the Kershaw Cryo II. Leaning towards the Spyderco because I like the shape of the blade. Any opinions on either of them? Or suggestions for other inexpensive EDC knives?

I've got a Tenacious. It's a nice knife. Nice size too. Wouldn't wanna carry a knife much larger than that in my pocket.

No experience with the Cryo II, but Kershaw blades are nice too.

I went with the Tenacious. It's much bigger than I expected; apparently I can't picture the sizes of things in imperial units very well :idk:
Still it's pretty awesome!
I also picked up a Kershaw Shuffle, because it was only $20. It's more of the size I'd actually want to carry every day and has a bottle opener. I think I'll save the Tenacious for camping/hiking, probably won't usually be used every day.

You'll have to let us know more about what you think of the Shuffle after you've had it a while.

I've got something similar in the Cold Steel Tuff-Lite.

Yeah, that's why I said I wouldn't wanna carry anything much larger than the Tenacious. It's not a small knife. I'd say it's medium-sized. I think the blade's just about 3 1/2 inches. Really don't notice it in my pocket though. It's slimmer than the Tuff-Lite too.

So I'm really liking both knives

The Tenacious is so smooth to open and close with one hand and it feels like very good quality construction. It's large, but not so big that my pocket feels crowded. That being said, I don't carry it every day. I'm kind of wishing I had gone with one of their smaller knives from the same line. I might have to grab one of them in the future.

The Shuffle is pretty nice. It's not as smooth to open on handed. It's not difficult to open, just not smooth. I could probably take it apart and oil it up, but it's really not that bad. Closing it one handed is a problem, though. The little latch is hard to comfortably push with your thumb. Still a great little knife. It's already gotten a ton of use and the bottle opener on the back is a pretty useful addition.

I have a full flat ground Delica 4 and it's a nice, smaller Spiderco. Very light weight. Definitely my favorite knife. Thumb hole is cool, way easy to flip open one handed.

Yeah, Delica and Endura are classic Syderco designs. I've got an Endura, but if the Tenacious is too big for MrNovember, so will be the Endura.

The Byrd versions are also pretty nice and they're cheaper because they're Chinese made.

The Endura is slimmer and lighter though, no? Might not be as perceptibly large.

I've been carrying a kershaw chill for a couple weeks now and love it. Crazy slim.
