Well that makes sense than. I've had shit like that happen for sure.
What kind did you end up getting Chuck? What brand I mean? I'm curious if it's one I've tried. I can't take it anymore, but still curious.

Re: Vitamins
jwar what do you mean by level in terms of the maca powder? Do you mean emotionally or in terms of lifts?
I've been doing a lot more powerlifting and strength training while I'm bulking up for the winter and have noticed that a decent amount of the time I can't fully focus/ feel 100 percent before a big lift which is the difference between an extra rep, 10 pounds etc.... i hate preworkout and it doesnt help me at all anyway.

So with Maca, the ONLY reason I started taking it is I felt like my testosterone was low (turns out I was right). Plus I worked at Whole Foods at the time and the hippies told me it was good. LOL. I never noticed anything to do with lifting exactly. I took it for everyday health.wsas3 wrote:jwar what do you mean by level in terms of the maca powder? I'll leave you with one piece I read on it that convinced me. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3184420/
Maca is one thing that I would say "go ahead and take it". It's that awesome. I have never met anyone that had bad side effects, infact I don't even think it has any. At least not that I've ever heard of! Shit even my doctor told me that it was amazing stuff after I introduced her to it! lol
For bulking, it could be too many carbs causing the mental fog. It happens to me. I fucking hate carbs but love them at the same time. When I have none, I none to very little I feel better, when I have a ton, I feel like shit. I think I have some kind of inflammatory response to carbs that I still don't quite understand.
Pre-workouts for the most part don't do anything for me either. I find them to really be a joke. The ones that do help though have the same key ingredients. Caffeine, Beta Alanine, Creatine (really I wish they would all have Creatine HCI in them since it works exceedingly better, and Taurine). I could get away with taking Beta Alanine by itself and caffeine and that's it. I've done before. Or I've skipped pre's altogether. Really I only take one now because it's extra calories that I need. And any little bit of pump helps me in my cutting phase.
I mean, that's me just being fully honest. I don't even need a pre-workout ever. I'm not sure anyone does. But who doesn't like that rush?!? You know when you first start taking them! LOL!
The thing also to remember with pre's and all supplements is you out to cycle off of them at some point during the year and give your body a break. I go for like a month or two a year with no supplements. It's my free time. I still workout, but I don't anything.
Twinlabs makes pretty good stuff. I would have went with the liquid kind but that will get the job done. The only reason I suggest liquid is you can more easily adjust the dosage. Like if even one pill is too much, you could make it less.chuckjaywalk wrote:Twinlab Yohimbe Fuel 8.0

I can take it or anything I want really. But the Yohimbe interacts with my meds.

Re: Vitamins
I've only done creatine monohydrate and had adequate results with it, I was actually gonna head to GNC today to pick some up maybe I'll give HCL a try if it's not too expensive.
This has been a consistent thing before the bulk so I don't think it's the carbs, I'd say the extra hundred grams or so has actually improved my performance in the gym.
I've actually read a bunch of studies and been told by my sports doctor that fast carbs can greatly increase inflammation if it was already present. Maybe you're just extra prone?
Yeah I just drink coffee. Beta alanine really scares me man, first time i took c4 i looked up "can you OD on preworkout" lol

I like the convenience of tablets. I pop one of these, two GNC Virility and Prostate vitamins, and an Aleve (for gout) before dinner. It is day 3 and I'm totally used to the yohimbe. I'm going to start taking the second one next week. Looking at L-Arginine or Zinc for more B0N3R JAMZ.
