Modding an Elements for different expression use
I'm wonder if it's possible to get an Elements modded in order to use the expression pedal input for the gain level instead of the mix...

Naw, it's not really doable.. the expression jack is pcb wired with 6 connections, you can't really change it, you'd have to change a bunch of traces on the pcb.
