Damn, they sound perfect. I never noticed them before because they're the first ones in the vintage bracket, which made me think they'd be vintage replicas of the type of Tele tone I'm trying to avoid—bright and spanky. I want clarity and sparkle, but with a throaty bottom-end and less midrange snarl than a P90.Holy Schnikes wrote:Thanks Danny. I agree, the Antigua guard is def unique and cool but idk, in person it was a little much. Like you said, the black was so much better it made the choice real easy.
And I'm sure you'd LOVE the BKP Flat 50's. They're actually modeled after the early Broadcaster singles only with a little flatter EQ for a fuller sound and some extra output to bring the lows and volume. Tim also pointed out that they're the best in the series when it comes to getting along with fuzz/dirt pedals too so that was a HUGE bonus for me.![]()
I fucking LOVE my Dwarvenaut, single channel med-high gain awesomeness. Oh the lows, soooooo good! Lots of amazing high gain old school sag, loves getting hit with a boost/OD/fuzz but doesn't need it in most settings, and super LOUD! Recently sold my Orange OR15 because it was getting shamed by the Hovercraft's low end thump. Just couldn't compare....
$425 is a goddamn steal, someone needs to hit that.
Here's mine now days.

Im not sold on phaser, i don't know where i would use it in the songs i play...I'm also leaning towards the hummingbird and the cosmichorus, both sound absolutely awesome. I could probably get the Trem now, but Cosmichorus would be another 6 months away!
The reason I was thinking about the dispatch master ,i have reverb thats on the whole time, and the delay i only put on during solos...so for cleans where i want real deep reverb and long delays, i would have to play with those other pedals, which i don't want to do.
I have the cosmichorus and the hummingbird and they are both solid pedals. theres some crossover area with them though you can get simmilar sound with either with the right settings.

Well said. I love my phaser, but it only gets used here and there because it's such an intense effect.AngryGoldfish wrote:The only modulation I would use on much of what I play is either tremolo and the right chorus. Phaser is something that adds spice and intense flavour to small parts. It's not like an overdrive or a delay that alters the core signal and dynamically responds throughout the song. I see phaser as a hit of coriander or chilli powder. Too much of it can ruin a song, but in the right moments it can be better than anything.samzadgan wrote:Im not sold on phaser, i don't know where i would use it in the songs i play...I'm also leaning towards the hummingbird and the cosmichorus, both sound absolutely awesome. Red Witch have a couple of awesome pedals that combine modulation to excellent effect. Personally I think tremolo is the shit. No other modulation compares. I cannot have a board without it. With that said, I'm using phaser more and more these days and have grown really attached to my Subdecay Quasar DLX. It was expensive and everything, but it never leaves my board. Once I pick up a Dr. Scientist Cosmichorus V3 I imagine it'll be swapped in and out each jam session, but so far my Catalinbread trem and Subdecay phaser are making me a happy man. Tap-tempo and subdivisions on both is essential.

How can you get a Hummingbird to do chorus and a Cosmichorus to do trem?

as for Phaser, I've seen phasers on so many boards which is why its even one of the options, but having listened to reviews on youtube, its seem like the tones are really useful for lead players, which is something i don't do much of at all.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I noticed the same negative (for lack of a better word) stigma that was associated with phasers as well. Van Halen and all these soloists using them to swish and swirl their lead licks, it doesn't have to be that way. Check out Dennis Kayzers videos on YouTube of the Subdecay Quasar DLX, Empress Phaser, and Toneczar Halophaze.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I think it was tj asking about running 3 amps?
Anyways. Ensure all the cabs have the speakers running the §ame way. Just turn around the cab and run them facing different directions. If it sounds better that way, change the polarity in the odd man out cab. I use the 200 watt amp with a bass foldedhorn bass cab and then the 2 100 watt heads with conventional cabs. One goes to a 4x12 and one runs the 2x15 and 2x12. I have stereo out from the gt-10, left goes to the bass (kicker) setup and right goes to a 12 band eq so the 2 other amps get some mid and high end boost.
Super simple! This may be why the ditto is on the chopping

Yeah dude, vibe and dirt were made for each other. I've mentioned this before Sam, but take a squizz at this http://www.electronicorange.cz/en/guita ... /moon-vibeemptyparadigm wrote:I think it actually sounds great with a fuzz before it, gets this huge, trippy feel.samzadgan wrote:The Vibe sounds nice...never thought about that before.Iommic Pope wrote:Holy crap, that wall of amps has bukaked me through the monitor!

When I get my financial affairs sorted (one day) I think it will be my next pedal investment. Plus you've got the option of that univibe style chorus, which is nice, with all the thick almost phaser but way cooler happenings of the vibe. Slow, deep, and pulsating, baby!
I know what you mean about phaser. I used to go apeshit with it,but you really need to be selective. You can still get away with rhythm passages, as Angry mentioned, its just a matter of knowing when. Vibe is the go though.
TJ, I wish I had your problems...
EDIT: Dude, I tried to pm you some pics of that neck problem I was having, but it won't let me attach shit (or I'm too fucking tired to figure it out),so I'll just stick em here and that way others can put in their 2c as well.
Also Ax, here is a pic of my old rg that your strat rung my bells over
