What are the main differences between the 3 and 4 knob Hoof? Is there any component differences? I'm looking for a used one and am trying to find if there's anything sonically different between them.
Thanks

Re: HOOF 3 or 4 knob
Thanks. in the thread someone mentions different transistors, if so does the 3 knob version sound better? Worse?

Re: HOOF 3 or 4 knob
Best Hoof I ever had had a pair of 2N1302s in it along with the two Si trannies and LEDs-- the only one I've ever seen with those. Might have been a coincidence, but it sounded great. WTF did I sell it?
The 3 knobs usu have 2N1308s
Last I looked the 4knobs have lower gain Etco 2N647s.
