Re: The All Nude New Gear Announcements 2023'd
i'm now having to introduce an age- and health-related criterion: nothing that requires regular fiddling where i bend and stretch to reach the board unless absolutely necessary. lately if i spend too much time bent over at the waist my lower back gets fucked up. i need to get a coffee table to set the boards on at home. most of my main board consists of boxes with one setting that never changes; the only things that vary are the Randy's Revenge, the uni-vibe, the tremolo, the delay, and the sensitivity on the envelope filter. if i had them up on a table i might fuck with the other boxes more...the PM7 Phase Modulator does some sick shit at its more extreme settings.

One of the main reasons I've opened up to digital pedals. I'll entertain any digital pedal as long as it has a desktop app so I can avoid bending down and twiddling knobs, as fun as that is.dubkitty wrote:i'm now having to introduce an age- and health-related criterion: nothing that requires regular fiddling where i bend and stretch to reach the board unless absolutely necessary. lately if i spend too much time bent over at the waist my lower back gets fucked up. i need to get a coffee table to set the boards on at home. most of my main board consists of boxes with one setting that never changes; the only things that vary are the Randy's Revenge, the uni-vibe, the tremolo, the delay, and the sensitivity on the envelope filter. if i had them up on a table i might fuck with the other boxes more...the PM7 Phase Modulator does some sick shit at its more extreme settings.

Re: The All Nude New Gear Announcements 2023'd
I spent a lot of time looking for a keyboard for my kids to use that didn't have extra knobs and settings to distract them. Whenever they'd play whatever I have around the house, they'd spend all their time making silly noises and wouldn't really engage with the keys; which was fine but they weren't really learning to use the keyboard. So that Loog thing looks ideal

I keep thinking the Keystep is the perfect basis for a beginner's keyboard, but you're correct: the less distraction, the better!
Also, I just realized that the Keystep is basically a Fender Bass Rhodes keybed, miniaturized, in terms of scale. That probably goes for lots of other keyboards, but that one seems ideal for Manzarekin' :::chompgif:::
Big also for people like me: new Kaizen colors just dropped (as well as some 6 stringers, but c'mon! You were already onboard for a 4K 7 stringer, like me, rite!?!). Take that, Kiesel!

I also appreciate that those colors are Kryptonite & Bleeding Heart, respectively

i tried to get in on the special low price for the Loog piano, but just missed the last one. guess i can wait a little while and get the bundle with the case and legs. this could be really handy as part of the looping concept.

Re: The All Nude New Gear Announcements 2023'd
I don't think it's been mentioned in this thread yet, but CBS pointed me towards the Bastl Outsidify app and it's the most fun couple of pounds I've spent in a long time. iOS only, though

Also, anyone see the new Electro-Faustus Faust hammer?

... yes I've dug my contact mics out recently so I've been back on a 'physical interaction' kick.

I found this Finch many-switched but also some normal knobs D+ recentlyechorec wrote:Has anyone checked out the Abacus? This seems like a souped-up Distortion+ with better packaging.

Also, who knew that DLS was still around? I had no idea they were still active.

Mosky also made a $45 less-is-more version recently....

Not as manny switches, but it'll get you there!

Also worth noting this Dead Air ultimate RAT that seems supremely grrrrrrreat :::tigergif:::

Here's some software drops from last week---
(discounted for owners of other Hainbach plugins at the AT store, login and add offer to your cart)
feedbacker/modulation/texture generator
https://www.audiothing.net/effects/lines/
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1H3qrwzcJA
With Black Friday a month away, you may to grab a Century Pass (lifetime plugins for a one-time purchase). Here's Puremagnetik's latest offering:

As someone who owns a hardware Oberheim (OB-6) and multiple G-Force plugins (Oddity, MKII), I think the new GForce Oberheim OB-X (licensed/endorsed by Tom) sounds great. It definitely has the Oberheim coloration and timbre.
