Boss Dimension C Alternatives?
You guys ever think of cool ways a movie series could've/should've started? Or maybe you've thought of cool adventures to continue movies you love? What ideas do you have?
I think we ought to remake Star Wars 1-3 the same way we keep remaking batman movies. Just keep doing it until we get it right. Maybe adapt them to follow the development of Obi Wan Kenobi like that one super nerd suggested?
What prequel to the Alien movie would you guys have preferred to Prometheus? I would have loved seeing a far more low tech human society find them. Maybe see no-gravity space ships and alien fights instead of fighting it out in an Apple store?

Star Wars would be really interesting, but as someone who got burned when the expanded universe went down, I can see how it'd cause a continuity clusterfuck. And Star Wars fans need continuity like few others do.
How about Transformers with no humans? In a smaller story directed by Denis Villeneuve?

I'd like to see a precursor to the mighty ducks where Gordon Bombay is raging alchoholic and only wins court cases. I'm especially curious to see him drive his corvette in the winters of MN.

How about some films taking from the IDW comics storylines? Megatron's origin story changes the whole setup of the Transformers universe.Invisible Man wrote: How about Transformers with no humans? In a smaller story directed by Denis Villeneuve?

Cosigning Jonny Angle's idea
A trilogy that needs remaking more than any other is The Matrix. It's worse than the sum of its parts.
To be clear, if the first movie existed on its own, I'd leave it alone. The first movie is great and doesn't need remade.
But the 2nd and finale...yikes. Tremendous potential to be better than the original...yet what we got was utterly forgettable at worst and memorable for all the wrong reasons at best. Needs more "bad ending" ruse cruise, outcome where the machines still "win" with the rise of smartphone dependency and humanity's subservience to tech.
A singular movie that will be remade sometime in the near future (if not already greenlit) is Howard The Duck, GOTG style. It should be R-rated due to the success of Deadpool.

How about a UHF sequel so we can get more trailers?

Stanley Spadowski's retarded character was somehow less troublesome than the behavior of the beloved actor who played him.

Prequels should be remade. Even the non-stupid in them was so poorly executed. Like the dark side was manipulating the production from behind the scenes . . .
Prometheus lost on the basic level that a xeno-biologist wouldn't just "poke it and see" like that. I remember some quip about how in the future everyone has frontal lobe damage.

Re: Boss Dimension C Alternatives?
The idiocy in Prometheus was so rich. The map guys get lost! Woman being chased by giant, rolling spaceship and doesn't simply TURN. Aforementioned "poke it and see" (though I think that's almost required for such a film). All the while the movie is extremely beautiful, making the plot ridiculousness all the more enraging. Whatever, though—I still didn't hate it.
