Spider-Man: Homecoming
Saw it tonight. Was rad.
Great final end credits scene! Definitely stay.

The new Spiderman was the best thing about Civil War IMO, so we'll definitely be seeing this one.

Re: Spider-Man: Homecoming
Went and saw it last night & this was definitely my favorite of the 6 Spiderman movies so far, and has real potential to maintain quality through the coming sequels.
I liked how they didn't cover backstory. That was a real refreshing change. He was the appropriate amount of witty/sarcastic vs McGuire's total lack thereof and not over the top like Garfunkel or whatever his name is. Also the having a Spiderman that is conceivably in high school was nice. It seems like in the first one, they just kind of use that as a pretext (field trip) to have him bit by a spider.

Re: Spider-Man: Homecoming
This was big part of enjoying the movie for me. Keeping Peter Parker a sassy high school kid trying to manage his everyday life and being a super hero made it feel more like a comic book in attitude rather than another HUGE EPIC ACTION BLOCKBUSTER. I haven't given a shit about super hero movies in quite a few years, but getting to see this and the Black Panther trailer has me pretty excited again.baremountain wrote:Also the having a Spiderman that is conceivably in high school was nice. He also actually looks like a teenager, as did a bunch pretty much all the kids in the movie. Nice departure from the first series.

Very much enjoyed the smaller scope of this one, too, as there were no giant blue energy beams shooting into the sky threatening humanity. Instead, he ends up running through suburbs when he has no buildings to swing from.
