Waxed clothes

Post by PeteeBee »

Anyone ever wax their jacket or anything like that? I think I'm going to wax my jean jacket, just looking for advice or anything. It's the rainy season here now, but in northern california that still doesn't really justify a proper rain jacket, just a little modification to the jean jacket I've been wearing all summer.

I think I'm going to order a couple of bars of otter wax unless anyone suggests otherwise.

I have a pair of waxed jeans and a couple of waxed bags. I've been thinking about doing the same to my denim jacket. It's not super hard to do but it's pretty time consuming. As far as durability and rain resistance, waxing is awesome.

Same. I've had jeans and a bag. Never thought to do a denim jacket. I'm curious how the painting on works compared to rubbing it it. Painting would be way easier

Hm... I have a couple of waxed jackets but they came that way, and one of em I sent off to be re-waxed after a few years. Curious to see how it goes for you.

Looks like you can either do it with liquid wax as well, which looks a little more intense than the bar.

I waxed some canvas boots once but I did kind of a shit job. I had a waxed jacket a while back that I loved but it got stolen. I think waxed canvas looks better than leather any day.

Guys—I've been looking for a locally sourced mustache oil. Thoughts?

Haha I'm guilty of all of those, too—I just live in Portland South.

There are much worse things we could be doing.
