My friends went camping in some hanging gardens there and a giant black centipede crawled in their tent and bit both of them and he couldn't use his arm for over 24 hours

The wife and I stayed in the Marriott on Maui for our honeymoon. Here. It was really nice. It was really hot (August) so we were content to chill on the beach for pretty much the entire time. If you're prone to sunburns at all WEAR SUNSCREEN AND RE-APPLY IT CONSTANTLY. Like, every other hour. Otherwise, you suffer.

The only really tourist-y thing we did was take a 'Road to Hana' bus tour around the whole island. Took the entire day. It was fun for the most part but I'd never do that again.

Wife and I got married on Maui. Stayed at the Hotel Wailea. We totally did all the touristy shit: zip lines, luau, biking down the volcano, snorkeling, road to hana (road from hana as well), bambo forest, lava tubes, black sand beach, lava fields, seven sacred pools, even got tattooed at a cool place (non tourist trap) and probably more shit I'm not thinking of.

So yea, if you have any interest in any of those I can point you in the right direction.

Hawaii has the best macaroni salad.
Seriously I miss that shit, stop by a L&L and try it. They may put crack in it.

just booked our stay at a house a mile from the beach in Keaau. rented a car for the trip, excited about having a house with a kitchen to be able to cook meals. i love eating out, but hate spending half my travel budget on foods.

zip lines scares the POO out of me. i'm super acrophobic, so even the zip lines in Vegas where a big no no. and we're both pseudo-veggies, so the luau probably not? but defo the biking down some HOPEFULLY ACTION TIME MOVIE STYLE ACTIVE volcanos, snorkeling...... really all the rest. good stuff to look at. thanks!

and we WERE thinking about each getting a little tatted thing to commemorate the trip. what spot did you like? any recommendations on the rest?

lol. not a huge fan of mac salad (but fucking LOVE good and/or good memory trashy Mac'n'Cheese....... i am a CONUNDRUM), the only "Hawaiian" style i've had is out here at fast food Hawaiian BBQ spots, they add WAY too much mayo for me.

WHAT IS AWESOME ABOUT IT DERELICTICAL. WHAT. TEACHHHHH MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

never have, going to do a snorkel tour or two? i love swimming, don't get in water as much as i'd like. The GrrL is.... part mermaid. she is pissed if she has to go a week or two without beach time. hence our destination choice this time?

This was the biking company we used, and I think they are the cheapest: http://mauisunriders.com

Snorkeling I think we did this one: https://www.prideofmaui.com Which ever you choose make sure it goes to Molokini (that little crescent moon island, it has a great reef)
Also we just rented some masks and went to the public beach in Makena and it was great too.

And this is where we got tattooed: http://paiatattooparlor.com/home.html The owners are a little hipster-esque but SUPER nice people are they don't try and rape you on price.
