Contact Lenses
Anyone using them? If so: what brand? The daily disposable ones or weekly, monthly? I don't have any odd prescription types.

Re: Contact Lenses
I use the 6 monthly.....but they're probably supposed to be the monthly. I'd let you know what brand but my wife went into the bathroom an hour ago to get ready for bed so I am not allowed in there for another two hours.

Re: Contact Lenses
I do these in the daily form. Been wearing glasses for 20+ years, but wanted to be a bit more active. still not convinced that i like these things in my eyes. I used to wear contacts years ago. Daily disposable is awesome compared to the maintenance longer wear require.Barracuda wrote:I just switched to acuvue oasis brand, and I have always done two week disposables. Re: Contact Lenses
I use the Equate brand daily disposables, much cheaper than the other brands I used for years. I'm forced to wear dailies because I was a moron and slept in the monthly ones, rarely took them out and stretched them to 6 months or so per pair. My eyes were starved for O2 so the veins started to creep across my corneas and the doc made me switch.
Moral of the story is take out your contacts at night and clean the damn things.

Re: Contact Lenses
Anyone notice any different doing back and forth between the lenses and glasses? Like any visual differences that also effect you physically - like disorientation? I'm sensitive to slight changes like that. Even going from one pair of glasses to another (same prescription) but different lens size makes me feel odd and takes a bit to recalibrate.
I also wanted to be free during activities and not have to worry about wearing glasses.
Do the daily disposables work out to costing the same as the longer duration ones?

Re: Contact Lenses
The only time I notice a difference between the two is when I'm driving, and prefer contacts in that regard.
I think I pay ~$160 a year for dailies, I'm not sure what other styles run now as I've been wearing dailies for a decade.

Agreed.Jeff-7 wrote:The only time I notice a difference between the two is when I'm driving, and prefer contacts in that regard.
I pretty much wear contacts once I step out the door in the morning and switch to glasses when I get home.
I have monthly contacts. I've worn them daily for 6 years or so now.
I think contacts are far better for driving and sports. I like them better for daily use as well, less worrying when it rains etc... They can get tricky if you keep your eyes focused reading on a screen for hours though. But that might be my correction: slight myopia and horizontal astigmatism in one eye, vertical astigmatism in the other.
Bear in mind not all cleaning fluids are created equal. Don't buy to big of a bottle either. Might seem like a good deal but you'll end up throwing away the end or throwing your contacts earlier.
