Introducing Stomp.club - like Netflix for effects pedals.
What we do:
*We are a subscription service for pedals, sort of like Netflix for your pedalboard.
*Instead of buying based on demos or playing in a guitar store, try pedals at home in your rig.
*We will let you rent 1 to 3 pedals a month for $30.
*We focus on boutique and very small manufactures.
*We focus on fuzz.
What we're not:
*A retailer. We will help you buy the pedal however we don't sell our inventory.
*A big anonymous giant. We want to help you find the best pedals to fit you. This is just my wife and I having a go at a small business, like many of the pedal makers here.
*Like those 'other guys' who never have the pedal you want in stock. We keep a high ratio of inventory to subscribers, so the waits are none or minimal.
How to sign up:
*Head over to Stomp.club and read about us.
*Look through our inventory.
*Pick 1 to 3 pedals and contact us to get started or contact us for suggestions!

We welcome any feedback you might have and we really hope you'll take a look at our selection and consider subscribing. We are also doing a promotion where one of the first ten subscribers will get their first month free. Also any suggestions for pedals you guys want to see us carry are welcome to! Right now this is limited to USA and Canada, but we are looking at European options as well.
Thanks fellow fuzz-heads for your time.
(In case any of you are wondering, I've been in contact with Tom about this and we'll soon have even more Fuzzhugger pedals on offer. We also contribute to sponsoring the forum.)

I've seen this tried somewhere else, but quite a bit more. $30 is extremely reasonable to "rent a pedal".
While personally I don't like the thought of adding another bill, what your offering is darn schweet!

Great idea though, I'd love to sign up.
My guess would be, that $30 a month would be a automatic debit and if the pedal doesn't arrive within a certain amount of time relating to the due date, then retail value of the pedal would be deducted.
Just checked out your site and your in San Juan PR! My sister lives in Carolina and my dad in San Sebastian.
My question for you is have you thought about wear/tear or damage to your pedals? As for me I treat my pedals with great care (I love stomp boxes!), but others may not.
Yes, we test every pedal when they come back to us. Play test, not just plug in and see if it lights up. As for security, we limit you to 1-3 pedals based on "Stomp Points" which roughly equate to the value of the pedal(s) you have rented. Yes, if you damage a pedal, we will have to debit you for it. But we'll talk about that first. We basically have a two-strike system; if 1 pedal gets damaged, we can chalk that up to shipping maybe, 2? You're out of the club and owe us the value. Wear and tear is of course going to happen, but we have depreciation built into our model. Still, pedals are fairly robust (at least compared to say, Eurorack modules, which we also thought about and still might expand into).
And when I say club, I really want this to be a community, where people send us their demos and feedback and what pedals they want to see and we'll do our best to establish relationship with those manufacturers and get their designs as early as possible. We have relationships already with guys you are familiar with, like Scott at MA, Tom at FH, Peter at VFE, Dan over at Snazzy, etc... We're working to build more and what you guys ask for will determine who we talk to! We're not trying to replace TGP or ILF but rather supplement.
I think $30 is pretty reasonable considering that comes out to $1/day to try out pedals *in your own* rig. We've all been there were you get disappointed by a new pedal because it just doesn't gel with your amp or guitar the way it did in a demo online. Believe me, we ran the numbers with lots of different price points through out model, including the price of 'those other guys', and we felt like $1 a day was the best and fairest point. Setting the price was the hardest part.
Think about it, its kind of like getting a 'pick your own tour-box' every month, albeit at a modest cost. Also right now there are no waits for any of our pedals in stock. We also let you get more than 1 pedal at a time; if you want a fuzz and a chorus in the same month, you can probably do it; you get 3 "Stomp Points" per month which could be 1-3 pedals.
We're doing this because we like pedals a lot, we like fuzz a lot, and we like the community a lot. We aren't trying to make a living with this; its just a fun pursuit for myself and my wife. Plus I get to play all these outstanding pedals and support the manufacturers that I really love and have brought me so much sonic joy like my Algal Bloom.
Contact us on the contact page. We'll send you an email with the Paypal subscription link. Cancel any time.
If you have a pedal you are enjoying and want to keep it another month, no problem as long as no one is waiting for it. Just ask us and we'll let you know.

in my experience, UPS/USPS does not give seven fucks about fragile electronic equipment, so what happens if they damage a pedal on more than one occasion?
Folks I have traded literally almost a thousand different pieces of gear, from pedals to Eurorack and Frac modules. Surprisingly, the only things I have had damaged in shipping was a big speaker and a large subwoofer, both of which were packed really badly. We will pack well and send you all the stuff to ship it back to us packed equally well.
Minus the Red Panda Particle just about all of those pedals are pretty interchangeable between all instruments. I still think you should remove that bass line from the FAQ.
