New cabs day!

today was a good day for gear. I picked up these two hiwatt cabs today for $100 each. No fanes in them, but the celestion g12k-85s are really nice. Very level response.

Does anybody have any experience with this era? 85-89 I guess. Totally clean like the day they were bought originally.

They are also ported, which surprised me. Overall, I'm super excited for the find.

Sweet score and ridiculously awesome price for those. I just got this Import Era 2x12. Loaded with Eminence Wizards. Paid $400 for it...

Yeah, the porting on Hiwatts is really interesting. Keen to hear your thoughts on what it does for teh lowz.

The dude I bought my cab from sealed it up, I guess because the recommendation for Wizards is that they sound best in closed cabs. But part of me wants to open the ports back up...

Yeah, maybe eventually. I'm still wearing in the one Wizard, it's brand new (needed to be replaced when I got the cab). It's only got about an hour into it and that's probably why I don't really dig the sound right now

Boner. G12k-85's rule, tho. I like em. They're supposedly the exact same as g12k-100's but relabeled.

Both of my cabs are similar 2x12s - I NEED one of these now. And maybe a little Reeves or Custom 20 to go on top :love:
