its on my local craigslist and a band member is interested in it but we have no idea what it is and no idea what kinda money to offer. i don't wanna rip anyone off, and i also don't want to get fucked either.
It's obviously modded to hell, so who knows what it is now, but it kind of looks like one of those 400 watt fender bass amps that I think we're from the 80's. Pretty cool amps. They sound alright and are loud as shit.

Looking at internet photos I'm not so sure. The chassis is the same shape, but the jacks and knobs are different. Could be related though. I was thinking of the fender 400 ps.

looks like a date in there of 4/18/74 Looks like it could be a cool thing. those tubes are equivalent to 6550's? With no brand on it, $2-300 ish?

I was gonna offer trades worth 300 or 200 cash? I think that's fair. if anything I could get it converted to a tube poweramp, or a blackface bassman? no idea

I saw an amp in BST a while back that had a similar chassis layout. It reminds me of that 40W Univox amp from a few months back. Assuming it works, I'd imagine $2-300 is pretty fair.

did find out the LK 188-5 tube designation he listed in the ad is just a location code. 188 is General Electric. 5 is the plant code (in this case, Owensboro, Kentucky) I cant verify that but it sounds very plausible. I think the date thing might just be when it was biased. From the way the chassis is riddled with holes, and rather non pro looking plugs to seal some of them. Could this have been some smart guys home build? I'd offer low and want to try it. could be a killer clean platform if it gets loud enough. Looks simple as hell and thats a plus in my book.

Not sure how much it's worth because it was obviously gutted and re-built with different wiring.... there is really no market value for something like this. Try it and see if it sounds good for whatever $ he's asking.
Here's some pics of the stock P3000... as you see it's been way, way, WAY modded... But I am 100% sure that's where the chassis came from.
Yours it the model without reverb/vibrato so there is an additional "Slave amp" in place of the reverb/vibrato jack. Other than that, it's the same amp.
Not that this matters, because the amp has been completely gutted out/modded.

I was gonna also say Univox. Just has that vibe to me.
Edit- should have kept reading as opposed to stopping as soon as my belief was reaffirmed.
