mf 102 input level problems

hi,

i recently got a moog mf 102 ring mod.

but they always say "run the drive knob so the led is mostly in the yellow area". mine is a lot more always in the red area even if i set the drive knob at lower settings (lower than 10 oclock), and i get also a lot of overdrive in the tremolo sounds (the reason why i got it).

help would be great! and also what the internal trimpots does? the previous owner may have mess with them.
