normally i'd post something like this in the Happiness thread, but this is such a Big Deal for me that i felt like it deserved its own thread. i've not worked for over three years, and i honestly didn't think i'd ever work again. so i applied for a job at the local silkscreen-printing plant, which i thought might do well for me since most of my work experience is in graphic arts...they rang me this afternoon and told me they want me to start in two weeks. i still can't even really relate to the news. i've been out of work for so long that it seems unreal. but apparently it is real, and if it works out i'll finally be able to support myself and my kitty again. to say that i'm grateful would be an understatement, not to mention stunned, flabbergasted, and shocked. i'm so happy to think that i can finally take care of myself again.

i need to take a moment to thank all the folks who have been so supportive of me during this last three years of hell. there have been times where the encouragement i received was the only thing between me and a slow slide down the slope of suicidal ideation. i couldn't have done it without your help. thank you from the bottom of my heart.
