yeaaaaaaahhhhh i don't know about this one.
annoys me that he gets wrecked in a car bomb instead of one of the best I'm Gonna Git You Suckah reasons in any action movie evah.
also, i'm glad they said "let's go more TACTICAL" instead of "let's go more URBAN" when they say paint it black.
i mean. i'll watch it. i'm just not that moist for it.

AV Club says it's a streamlined action film without the sociopolitical message the original had. They could have/should have tackled the drone subject, seems like the only justification for remaking the movie.
Also, I agree, the fact that he's just badly burnt and isn't brought back form the dead is fucking stupid.

ugh. it's SUCH a good time to do an updated take on the way corporations are more powerful than local governments. if you're going to redo the movie, tackle THAT.
not a feel good "man triumphs over external control through willpower" feel good message that really is just to placate people.
losing interest in this the more i think about it.

New Total Recall wasn't half bad. Holywood has been stealing ideas left and right forever, at least these do-overs are upfront about it.

It's soooooo fucking lazy. At least repackage your stealing into new shit, like Tarantino did. If you're gonna re-sell me the same shit over and over, at least make me believe it's new. Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies.
