Where to start w/ Doom? Band Suggestions

I'm only just now getting into doom, and all I've really heard is Bongripper and Sleep (and some local bands, which started the whole thing). Anyone want to suggest some bands I should check out? Or else some kind of Doom podcast/radio show?

Sorry about being such a noob. Just really itching for some heavy, heavy riffs.

Welcome, and D.o.S. was pretty comprehensive there.
I would add Conan, Windhand, Cough and Eyehategod.
Suss out the listening party thread for some more cool shit as well.

If someone knows the Youtubes better than I do we should create a primer playlist/mixtape.

'Cause looking at a list of bands (and my god, there are so many A+ doom bands from the last fifteen years it's absurd) isn't actually all that helpful--at least, it wouldn't be for me.
