St Louis MO - what to do

Post by goroth »

Gotta go there for a conference at the end of May.

Are there any rad fuzz shops or good restaurants or pubs? That's pretty much my life right there - good fuzz, good beer, good food. But I'm also open to other suggestions. ILFers know their stuff about knowing good stuff.

Im working on a project for them that I dont think Im supposed to talk about so Ill just leave it at that.

I dont really know any music shops or restaraunts cause I live like two hours away and don't get up there a ton. I do know a little cafe called gelateria thats pretty tasty sometimes.
I was supposed to go to the zoo with my girlfriend for valentines day today and find some other stuff to do but its like 40 degrees out so we decided against it.

There's def some good shit is St.L, especially if you're only spending a few days in town as opposed to living here on a full time basis haha!

I'll get back with a list of solid suggestions sometime this weekend when I have a little time to sort it out. :thumb:

Awesome. Make random post. Go to bed. Get woken up by son at 4.30 am. Check ilf. Buncha cool replies!! :joy:

I'll be there the last week in may = no Boris.

I'm not cool enough to be a hipster, but I spose I prefer boho to snobby shit. Probably got a tight schedule so I guess I've gotta restrict myself to being relatively central. Should maybe get a half a day off somewhere that will allow more time for stuff.

Where will you be staying? Downtown I assume? If so, my suggestions are

Bars: Tap Room, Tin Can
Food: Plush (everything), Rooster (brunch), Bailey's Range (burgers), Pi (pizza)
wildcard: Fountain on Locust (ice cream and soda jerks and cool design)
guitar stuff: J. Gravity is the only cool shop in that area; Killer Vintage closer to Maplewood has everything EQD and Nash guitars.
cool music: Apop on Cherokee
