murf. i have pretty much a week off. i just got some parts i wanted for my Watching Stuff/Playing Vidja Games yarea in the front room, a new laptop to be able to move the audio computer back to the bedroom, spent like 3 hours cleaning up 5 years of Hey I've Got A New Component Neat Guess I'll Just Chuck All The Cables From The Old One Back HERE bullshit behind where all the audio/video/game components are.....

spent the last 2 days copying over and anally retentively following a filing system for about 800 gigs of tv/movie video and 200 gigs of audio stuff. it's all on a shared network drive attached to a WD TV Live so i can run music through the 5.1 system and all the video through my tv. new receiver means everything's going hdmi so it's cleaner cable wise, an articulated arm mounting bracket is on it's way to get the 60 inch plasma off the table onto the wall, it's now a Blu Ray player, PS3, 360, Receiver, Modem and Router, WD TV interface and the sub in a close to the ground entertainment center, a laptop in the living room dedicated to being a torrent/web browsing machine that's easy to stash under the coffee table........

yeah. all that? nobody cares. it makes ME ridiculously happy. and i get to do a Near Permanent ReWire on my pedalboard when the Ciokolate ever gets here..... but stuff like that...... if i tell friends they just look at me like i really, REALLY need pussy. which, while might be true, isn't a binary situation.

what'cha'll got done did that people are not NEAR as impressed as they should be about it?

And I agree about the whole entertainment system thing. It takes so much time, research and effort, and makes everything so much easier and enjoyable; but no one you tell cares. That sounds like a nice setup bhenders :thumb:

My job was 25 pounds over the amount of cheese they were supposed to use last week.
I think that was mostly me, and I'm oddly proud of that.

Aside from that, a lot of the weird computer shit that I figure out, like MAC Address spoofing from .reg files to unban my friend's laptop from his dad's router, and shit like that.

fucking 800 GIGS OF VIDEO SO FAR.

and i'm working on consolidating about 300 gigs of mp3's right now. JUST got them all on the same hard drive.

that made me laugh out loud in The Reals World. i.... think i DID forget to blank the screen saver that dips through all available photos. my bad homie.

urm... Pron is a surprisingly small folder. RedTube and ExtremeTube and the other online free services have supplanted a lot of my local pron files. i winnowed out a LOT of stuff. i think Naughty Bits Touching Other Naughty Bits is only about a seventh or so of total video date? maybe even less.
