European Football Cup!!!

Post by phantasmagorovich »

So, guys, who of you watches the games?

I am excited about tonight germany vs portugal, which is like having the two parts of my soul play football against each other.

I was also very surprised by the quality of the russian team yesterday. I would not have expected that, especially scoring four goals against Cech, who's a great old-school goalie is a feat.

Anyone else watching this?

Anything that gives Earache Records an excuse to have a sale is good, as far as I'm concerned.

I have to take a look at the schedules...Adrian turned me on to that wonderful site that live-streams football matches, so i'm definitely on it.

They are all on espn3 as well if you have the right cable provider. How about Denmark? I'm amazed they won.

I'm down.

I've caught three of the four matches so far...

Was pleased to see Russia smack the Czechs around... Last Euro Cup I believe the Russian team was the youngest on average, and they were pretty lightning quick. Glad to see them pull off a hot one yesterday.

Always down for seeing Portugal get beat... biggest bunch of crybabies in every tournament.

Wish I could catch Spain vs. Italy, but I'll at least get to see England vs. France on Monday, and my two week vacation starts that same day!

Looking forward to beers and balls.

I'm down! Was great to see Germany kick Portugal's ass, although it was closer than I'd have liked. Would be amazing if Denmark made it through to knockout!

Can't wait for Spain - Italy later, although being in Asia means matches are at midnight and 2am. TIME ZONE Y U DO THIS TO ME.

You already know. Im a bit upset with Nederlands showing today. Robben was awful and, unusually, so was RVP.

You can say that again, I had Netherlands winning it all. Originally was thinking Germany but then the Champions League final happened...

I hear you on the Netherlands tip. I usually root (sp?) for my heritage, as I don't have any other ties to Europe, really, but I also tend to not like the teams to whom I am related! I've never really liked the German teams, although they are always very good. The Netherlands are also always great, but their playing in the World Cup final was atrocious, and Spain certainly deserved to win. I guess I mostly like to root for teams that deserve to win, and I think Spain is certainly one of them. Just a good group of talented dudes... they're like a mirror to Portugal, just with way more heart.

I'm a quarter Swedish, too, so I'll def be on their side, although they never make it very far. Germs, Swedes, and Dutch (with a quarter Slovak... but they didn't make it this time around. Good show in the World Cup, though.).

Holy balls, I got so drunk yesterday I can't even remember how I got home.

Most of the games were horrible so far, I kinda like to see one team dominate the game and that was only the case with russia so far. (they are now the oldest team on average, btw, but still put on a great, fast game.) Netherlands did horribly against Denmark, they should have won but they just did not find the right tactic against the danish. And that goal was kinda lucky, even though it was also very pretty. Since it only takes a few games to get through to the ko-rounds, I am pretty sure Denmark will make it now. I guess they win Portugal and lose against Germany but that might be enough.

I'm wondering what today's games will bring, I guess that spain will clearly dominate italy but I have no clue what to think of the irish and the croatian teams.

Netherlands played the only tactic they know...pass, attack, attack, pass. The problem was that their finishing was piss poor. And Robben was such a shameful disgrace. Was he even interested in getting the rest of the team involved, ffs?

I much prefer an even game...Blow outs are never fun for me for whatever reason. Though, Russia was a great match.
