Fuck yes, I love me some red wine. I'd love to be one of those wine snob guys who goes off about hints of lavender and raspberry and shit like that. But I don't get that stuff, just tastes like wine to me.
Now I really want a glass of red wine, but I don't think I have any. Oh well, beer will do.

I'm like that except I love white wine, not red. It'd be pretty cool to know what I was talking about with wines, but I'll settle for just enjoying the taste.

Austrian wine is pretty darn good. But if you ask me about white, I'd have to go with a regional crop of this:

And well, the lavender and stuff is really there. It helps if you start by getting told what you are supposed to taste and then try to single it out while drinking. Lot's of stores over here have short taste descriptions or sometimes it's right on the bottle. So usually you'll need some time to get used to deciphering the taste but once you got a hang of it it's easy. And fun!

I'm not a fan of the red wine... I like the white more.. but I won't say no to a (big) glass of Lambrusco...

Re: the WINE thread
I am in the process of becoming one of those pathetic wine snobs that tries to pick out the different aroma and tasting notes in wines. I started looking into wine a few years ago, same way I got into good beer: By realizing that some was fucking awesome, and some was fucking terrible, and making sure that I could tell the difference between them. But just being able to tell that one difference isn't enough for my brain. I have to learn every fucking thing I can about a subject once I start.
Anyways, I love reds, whites, anything. I can appreciate almost any varietal, although I definitely have my favorites. For whites, it's probably Viognier right now. For reds, my favorites are Rhone blends and an occasional Pinot Noir.

I love wine. Yesterday I had a bottle of "Domaine Lalande Réserve Merlot 2009". I know this because the bottle is right next to me. I usually buy white since it's easier to consume in large quantities but I like red a bit more. I usually get Drosty-Hof, it's the Tubescreamer of wines.

This is why I like wine. Also, it's why I started this thread.

I've been trying different wines since I've been 21... mostly cheap wines... but this has been my favorite. Got it half off on clearance, love it.
I also love me some Chocolate Wine.
