Post by kaboom »

i had to take my laptop apart to fix a broken hinge, and apparently i need to apply some thermal grease to the fan when i put the whole thing back together. could i get thermal grease at a computer store, or do i need to find it online? are there many different kinds?
please and thank you.

It's pretty standard stuff. Some people obsess over different brands the way people obsess over Dumbles and Klons. You might even be able to find some at Radio Shack.

I have bought that stuff at Radio Shack before. It's easy to find.

yeah, you don't want to use too much or it'll pick up all kinds of dust and crap and gum up the works, leading to the exact opposite result of what you want.
