Recommend Video Editing Software for Demos

I'd make some pedal demos but I'm cheap and lazy.
I want some kind of simple video editing software where I can take the video recorded by my camera and sync it with audio recorded by my field recorder. I'd also like to be able to do simple edits and maybe add some text.
I don't want to pay for it.
It has to run on Windows.

Does it exist?
