1)I build z.vex clones in shiny packages
2)I'm using the money I make by doing things the hard way to buy the things to do it the right way. : D. My parents did help me out when Paypal ate my money, though.

what is/was your business? - I'm a freelancer. That sorta counts, right? I have an LLC, so that's kinda official-like...

where did you get the money to get it started? - luckily, the filing fees were pretty cheap, and I already owned all of the equipment I needed.

where did you get the money to keep it going? (wat) - when I started, overhead was low. Now, I get through feast vs. famine... uh... because my wife has a steady gig. Which gets old pretty fast, lemme tell ya.

did your business fail? if so, why? - while it hasn't necessarily failed yet, I'm not sure if it's succeeded, either.

what is/was your business?

web design and programming. late 90s, early 00s.

where did you get the money to get it started?

savings. startup costs were cheap, nicked an office off our main business partner until profits were such that we could get our own space. used our own equipment until profits could buy us "business compters", etc.

where did you get the money to keep it going? (wat)

recurring contracts, steady stream of new clients.

did your business fail? if so, why?

no. or, rather, we were bought out by a larger company. some continued to work for them, i left to go work at another startup.

I sold spare parts, ammunition, shuttles, contraband...that kind of thing. Undercutting these idiots who tried to dominate the market.
A friend gave me a few million ISK but mostly I just ran errands for the higher-ups in various corporations. I guess it's a sort of mercenary work, though my main concern was building a reputation among the higher-ups in the various corporations.
My income was supplemented through salvaging.

I'll help out.

1- My business is Noisemaker Effects - but most of you already know that. I build little boxes of fuzzy joy.

2 - I started small, with just a bit of savings. It was tough to get some growth going, but it ended up working out.

3- I reinvested the money I made early on into Noisemaker Effects to keep it going. Expanding, new designs, gear to do proper demos, etc.

4- Not yet, and hopefully not soon.
