Shipping to Brazil?

Post by dorfmeister »

I've got a guy wanting to buy one of my pedals. He is in Brazil and can pay by paypal. I usually only will ship to the continental U.S. but no one seems to want my Interstellar Overdriver Supreme and he does.

Anyone run into any hassles shipping overseas and to Brazil specifically?

Only problem I've had was in regard to size and weight, ask him to check on his
countries custom regulations.

Yeah....I am definitely going to have him pay for the shipping. I expect it to cost quite a bit.

use USPS Express shipping, 2-3 days with tracking and insurance. It should be about $35 for a pedal if the whole box is under 2 lbs (take the battery out lol). If you are paid via Paypal, you can fill out all the customs forms online, and then you only have to print them and use one of the USPS special plastic pouches to attach them to the box.

ANY other USPS international method is just throwing a box in the air and hoping it gets there. UPS and FedEx are too expensive.

Yarr if he won't shell out for usps priority international/express I wouldn't do it.
No tracking/insurance is asking for it.

I am starting to think it is all too much of a hassle to do. I mean somebody in the continental U.S. will eventually want a very nicely priced DBA Interstellar Overdriver Supreme won't they!

I actually just shipped a camera down to Brazil and didn't have any issues.

It's expensive as shit. $20 for first class, but no more hassle than any other international shipment...

I once shipped myself to Sao Paulo and it was expensive as shit. But then I drank and drank and drank and when I finally sobered up, I realized that I had only spent like $50!!

Brazil rules. Send the man the pedal. As long as you get paid, why do you care where it goes?

Seriously though, no problems.

I don't care where it goes....its just that it looks like I might have to do a bunch of legwork to and customs form filling and make sure I choose the right way to ship it so it doesn't get lost. It is so much easier just to send it to somebody in the United States and be done with it.

Ok - grab a flat rate box, put the pedal in it, and ship. You'll have to fill out a short customs form, which is easy, and that's it.

If you can fit it in a Small Flat Rate Box, it'll only be $14. Medium boxes are in the $25 range, IIRC.

Every country is different, but international priority usually gets there within a week.
