I once heard a song I'd like to hear again, help?

Post by htsamurai »

doubt anyone can help but I'd love to hear it again, figure it's worth a shot
its like a 70s acoustic song sang by a guy, its a sad song where (I think) he's talking about his life or about lost love....maybe both
alls I really remember is the chorus is something along the lines of
"...and I'd travel around the whole wide world
just to see the girl
but she -something-"

here's hoping someone can piece together from my patchy memory :(

My first thought was the Wreckless Eric song. But, it's not very acoustic......eeeee.

Plus, the lyrics don't really match up.

I am now done explaining how unhelpful I am.

all I can think to add is that it was definitely acoustic, definitely older (had a jim croce feel to it even but the guys voice was way too sweet and soft to be croce) :(

British singer or American? rock-ish backing or quiet? any jazz influence?

James Taylor? Tim Buckley? Nick Drake?

I'd say it was American, but no way to be sure, def not a rock-ish backing, I don't remember any kind of jazz influence being there at all

I doubt it was James Taylor as I'm relatively familiar with his works and it wasn't his voice at all, not familiar with the other two :(

this was before I had an iphone, or maybe I didn't have it on me at the time

the closest way I could describe the voice was a male voice in the higher register :(

Where did you hear it? If it was on the radio then we know that it couldn't be too obscure.
