I have a nikon fe already which is niftyish but the class i'm taking focuses specifically on medium format black and white.

Why don't you ask the professor what they'd recommend?

I think the Yashika TLR is the k1000 of medium format.

I don't want to wait 3-4 weeks to start looking for a camera when classes start as if i go with ebay it's like 2-4 weeks to get something from overseas.

Umm...not to sound like your dad or something, but if you have to ask someone else what/where to pierce, maybe you aren't ready to get it done in the first place. It's supposed to be what you want, not what everyone else wants. And FWIW, I have a piercing myself...old-skool left earlobe.

Cartilage will take longer to heal and hurt more overall...been there with an attempted helix some years ago. It lasted three days and was almost constant high-lvl pain (but maybe I'm a wimp)...I finally had to take it out just so I could sleep. Serious.

Earlobes done hurt way less than i thought it would. So how about aftercare stuff yo? I can either use some piercing antiseptic aftercare spray stuff or i can try contact saline solution the only thing is that it is the squeeze type bottle that has preservatives in it. I know each one isn't ideal but which one is better? i just don't see myself making up a batch of solution every day for 6 weeks.

IIRC (since it's been awhile), I just used isopropyl alcohol and cotton balls twice a day...ymmv...
