Haha same I usually don't feel sad, but more filled up with angst. However, those times I do I usually listen to some soft classic rock, or quite ambient psych stuff.

It's just that when I'm "sad", things that I really love are psychically (yes I used that word in another thread) destroyed for me. I have no interest in Elliott Smith, Failure, or Broadcast when I feel like shit.

For me, anything noisier than my usual music choices. Portraits of Past and Indian Summer see heavy rotation in my car when I'm sad. Also, lame stuff like Counting Crows.

well, see, there's the stuff i listed previous, which is for "sad." then there's music for "bitter," which would be Proof Through The Night by T Bone Burnett, anything by Richard and Linda Thompson, or selections from Husker Du; and music for "vengeful fury," where Superunknown by Soundgarden--which saved my life after my second divorce--and Raw Power by the Stooges are always cued up.
