Yeah what you won't get as easily on the 0-Coast is the smooth slide between timbres. Not that you can't do it, but that patch was also using the Doepfer A-147-2
good deals are here.

Okay so my impression after day 1 is that I am blown away and have been a damn fool for not doing this sooner. It's so easy to make things communicate & you can get some out of this world sounds with relative ease. It also makes a delightful synth voice for normal melodies.
It's great on its own, but when you throw some delay on it, the machine really comes to life. I also messed around with running a harmonizing voice from my OBNE Reflector and that added an insane amount of depth. I was mainly doing -1oct and -5th. You can peep that here -
I then tuned it and ran it through the Pitchfactor and unlocked a whole new world of sound.

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Talk to baremountain, he makes attenuator boxes that'll convert from +/-10 to +5

if you have other ideas or needs, just ask him. hes a fucking wizard

vidret wrote:how come the 0-coast has such brutal, HUGE lows? It sounds like a fucking spaceship flying overhead, but with audio present in space. Gonna have to compare with the microbrute but it can't really hit THOSE kinds of sounds. How come?
The two voices really compliment each other. To my ear the Microbrute comes out sounding thicker, but the 0-coast adds a buzzy top and those massive lows on the bottom. You can also program the 0-coast to do all sorts of complex movement and have the Brute be this powerful, stable voice. Using the gate & pitch from the Microbrute to run the two in unison is a dream.

vidret wrote:My no-coast will have its very own pretty years and ILFDD to get around with. Maybe a particle.

I was looking forward to just attenuate some signals and CV the PY with it, but looks like most pedals are 0-3 or 0-5 V while coast sends -10/+10 volt, not sure if that's worth trying if something breaks the second it goes negative.
 I can totally hook you up with something if you're interested. I'll PM you.
For what it's worth I send the Pretty Years unattenuated +/-10V all the time and it works just fine.
Digital pedals get a lot more weird when you do it - that's mainly where my concern comes from. I'd say maybe I'm causing long-term damage, but I use the pedal all the time and have been sending it bipolar CV since the day I got it ~8 months ago so :idk:
The real perk of attenuating is you'd be able to control the sweep width. The full +/-10V range sounds rad for most applications in my experience, but there are differences. I tried sending audio rate oscillations at 5V and couldn't hear the secondary pitch, but could when I sent it the bipolar voltage.

Whoa, I can imagine. I got rid of my Brute but I'm gonna try this w my Keystep using MIDI for the FM & CV for the 0-coast.

Also some fresh findings - I hooked up the 0-coast via CV to my Pretty Years, Happiness, and Twin Stags & got some really unique sounds. One of these days I'll learn to make proper YouTube clips but until then 1 minute Instagram clips will have to suffice https://www.instagram.com/p/BTAOaO8AvA4

Mine arrives tomorrow!!! Can't wait to use the beat step pro to control the 0-coast and the minibrute, while sending CV to my Pretty Years and so on. It's gonna be a busy amazing weekend.

Anyone have clips of these brutal lows and/or coast+microbrute to push me over the edge into wallet/vein opening insanity?

I have no doubts about his wizardry, Adam seems like the go-to guy for bespoke CV stuff.

It's an envelope follower you're talking about, yeah? Or a manually triggered envelope like the ARF?
