Not enough gigs, so I'll prolly end up getting another job. Prolly warehouse something. Worked in an office once, and I hated it.
Know the feeling. We're actually ranked one of the most competitive careers according to the government. #7 to be exact. Tough to keep it going as a career.

Past couple days have been nuts. Next couple days will be almost as nuts. But it's a cool gig overall. I write proposals.

I'm the chair of an English department. Looking for a way out. Administration is not what I trained for, and the teaching here is pretty limited. The college is run like a business by...business people. I'm incredibly fortunate to be here, but this place will eat me in a few years' time. Lots of autonomy, but no real power to institute any changes. So I do much reading of the internet, since I am required to work on an office for eight hours a day for reasons no one has made clear.

I work at a building material export type of business. my best friend/bro is my "boss"(my actual boss, or the dude who supplies my pay, is a mennonite in mexico that only visits once a month :joy: ). I get to leave early/take the day off or make noise and drone out when there's nothing to do.

What fucking sucks for me is I see the same shleps just doing horrible at their jobs, but the same ones keep getting hired over and over again cause they're friends with the head.

I don't have formal training, but I do have 7+ years experience, and an incredibly good knack for learning quick. But getting my name out is like throwing a tissue with it written on it into a hurricane and hoping it gets 100 miles away unscathed.

I make pizzas. :P

The job is pretty sweet tho, my boss/co-workers are hella chill and the vibe is cool. Plus we get free pizzas for lunch (Were not little ceasars so the pizza are better quality too). The real only typical downside is how crowded we get some days, but seeing as I only work part time I don't complain.

Lately tho, theres been problems. The old boss left for a better job, which is sucky since he was a big reason everyone else was chill. Set the whole vibe of how we operate. We also got this new guy from another location who is ok work wise, knows his shit, lots of experience, but unfortunately he only works well by being a dick. Which he is to me. Alot.

I bounce back and forth with being whatever about him and hating him. So well see how much of it I can stand before I quit, which is not something I want to do, but it might be the only option if this keeps up.
