If you're totally new to doom, just listen to a lot of Black Sabbath. A lot.
They never seem to be mentioned, but early My Dying Bride is amazing. Actually, I love all of that early British stuff(Paradise Lost, Anathema, etc.) and it never seems to get too much love. There weren't too many other names in the game back then and I really remember there not being a whole lot else circa '92 or so.
Fuck me. That was 21 years ago.
Grandpa needs to go get a nice cup of tea now.

Oh, yeah, and this guy's band doesn't suck, either. :thumb:

Agreed! Hence why I mentioned them on the first page. Guiltless is a can't miss album, its helped redefine the words heavy and cathartic.

Well I'd probably have known you posted them already if I could read.

Will, I couldn't be much more pumped to hear the new album. Is there a release date yet?

So far, it's just slated for a fall release. We've had a few problems getting the artwork submitted. It's driving me crazy.

Seriously. I walked into the venue where I saw them in BTV a few years back and Mike Hill was just sitting in the corner, with his hood up, sweating profusely and staring into the middle distance. They then performed one of the most intense shows I've ever seen.

Damn , that would've been the tits.

Yeah, that's the town's resident co-op punk/low budget venue. A great place to see a band like Tombs.

Although I saw them a couple years later with Isis and Pelican and they were still intimidating. Not terrifying, but the Paradise is a little too much of a proper club for that.

Phantom Glue kicked my ass that night, too. On a related note, their new album is awesome.

Three pages in and no mention of Warning, Watching From A Distance is probably the greatest doom album recorded.
