I've seen my father cry three times:
1. His grandma's funeral
2. Bill Pullman's speech from the movie independence day
3. Listening to heroin by velvet underground

Pretty sure that's just romanticizing it though. All of my friends who've done it kept a trash can nearby to puke in. Funz.
I have a friend who is an ex-user and she told me she used to just puke into the piles of laundry around her house.

Haven't done heroin but that seems to be the theme among most others here. I like to believe if anyone knew how to explain it, it would be Lou Reed, and I really, really like to believe this is what heroin feels like.

I haven't done heroin specifically, but I've had some experiences with morphine, hydromorphone, codeine, oxycodone... Aside from potency, I couldn't tell the difference, so I imagine heroin being the same. I've been told the difference is merely the intensity of rapid onset from smoking or spiking it, but that's a little too risky for me.
If heroin is your jam, remember that naloxone kits save lives. I'd have a couple more dead friends if it wasn't for naloxone.

Yes, Nalaxone/Suboxone is a life saver.
I always explained it to people like this: The sound that is in Star wars when Obi Wan shuts down the power/sheilds on the death star, that is what heroin feels like. Or pick your ecumenical deity of choice. It is like that deity floated down and gave you a big hug telling you everything is going to be alright. Nasty stuff though, the absence of it feels like the exact opposite.
