So...there's two Robocops? Or three? And not just a giant walking tank?
When I heard about them doing a remake, I was excited only because its a ridiculous movie. But that CGI-tastic trailer made me no longer excited. So its Iron Man, only gray (or black). That's all I got from it.
Actually that's harsh. I'm sure Robocop will be more human than Iron Man. (I've never been much of a fan for Iron Man, if you can't tell. But the movies are done well, so that's good)

Up next will be a Blade Runner remake.
Starring Ben Affleck.
And Lady Gaga.
Directed by Micheal Bay.

I actually think Bay would do an awesome job directing that, assuming the script was more-or-less unchanged.

the Pain And Gain thing makes me think Bay might actually be a decent director if he calms the fuck down with the racist explosions everywhere.

I think Bay's visual ideas and pacing could add a bit more forward action than the original had, but a bunch of dick and fart jokes (visual or auditory) would take away a bunch.
Script stays the same(ish) and it might be alright.

He deserves most of the criticism he gets, but he definitely makes his movies look amazing.
And bad boys 2 is great.
My favorite Michael Bay anecdote comes from an oral history of his from Vanity Fair (I think). He was a film student at
Sarah Lawrence Wesleyan and apparently he and one of his cohorts were all like "what's wrong with making movies that the average person likes?" to the ire of the rest of that crew.
It was GQ:
http://www.gq.com/entertainment/movies- ... al-history
Bay: Wesleyan was very cliquey. They all wore dark clothing, and they were always uggghhhhh.
Basinger: "All the film majors wore black! They liked death!" He sees them as one giant goth! Wesleyan was not a very big frat school, but Michael belonged to one.
Fuller: We were very outspoken that there's nothing bad about making commercial films, and we were certainly ostracized by some of our classmates for that. We both loved Risky Business.
Good read.

i liked it a LOT. actually saw it in the theaters twice (different cliques of friends), and it's not only really funny in parts (the Rock was awesome), but it's better acting from Wahlberg than i think i've ever seen. good shits.

I wanted to go see it, but was kinda held back due to the last Bay movie that I've seen being transfercraptormers.
If its got behndy's seal of approval I might dig it.
