lost 80 pounds since last year.

so thankful for the continued support i have gotten through this... and have high hopes for losing at least 50 more pounds in the next year

i'm thankful that despite how hard it's tried, the madness of the last year hasn't totally broken my heart or driven me to give up. i'm thankful that i haven't lost my house despite being abandoned by my gf and being unemployed. i'm thankful that the new antidepressants seem to work much better in terms of keeping me from going into the depths of despair for days at a time. i'm thankful that at least one of my cats is still with me, even if the courts could take him at any time. i'm thankful that i have a good attorney, and that i'm going to get a refund from a long-delayed tax filing that will allow me to pay him. i'm incredibly thankful for the friends who have helped me through these times and even given me things to smile, laugh, and feel hopeful for, and that means to a whole lot of you too. you can see by my volume of posts in a year how much this place and you folks have come to mean to me. so of course i'm thankful to Tom as well for providing the virtual playhouse in which we do our inimitable thing. my gratitude to the incredible kindness shown by people in the world around me is almost inexpressible,,,the utter decency, caring, and helpfulness folks who don't know me or hardly know me at all have shown in answer to my distress. i'm thankful to God, without whose love i'd be utterly lost, and for His promise of forgiveness of sins which i'm going to need having accumulated a boatload. and i'm thankful for music, which still gives me the promise of a way to let all the awful, jumbled, confused, complex feelings i have to bottle up inside to keep from cracking up...out. and to do it in a way that creates beauty in the world.

I'm glad I've made it 3/4 of the way through a semester without killing myself or completely withdrawing from life altogether.

i'm not being a smart-ass, either. i has teh BPD, so i feel you.

I'm thankful for the ability to have tiny, minor inconveniences to worry about.

i'm thankful that after fifty-five years of fucking up i apparently still have more chances to try again. why i should be grateful given my record of failure is puzzling to me, but i'm thankful anyway. after all, otherwise what would there be?
