Maybe it is better suited to a blog, but you guys started the discussion, on a public forum, so you don't get to say when it should end. You know this.

This is absolutely false. Yes, it's a public forum. I'm not trying to stop anyone from talking about something or anything for that matter. It's ridiculous to suggest that we as community have no say in what gets talked about though. As I've stated, I feel this isn't really a productive conversation any longer and I'm questioning why we're still at it.

I take GK's tab keeping posts as fuel for discussion more than anything else. He also puts across his own personal opinion in some, which is no different than anyone else is doing.

As someone who lurked this thread, I found Gordian Knot's posts helpful, and skimmed the slurpee stuff. Not to say people shouldn't have posted Slurpee stuff, go at it! It didn't bother me to skim. Just wanted GK to not feel ganged up on.

I can understand people's concern's about him being too serious, the polite thing would have been to just shoot him a pm.

I appreciate people sticking up for gordian knot, but I don't think we've been that harsh to him. (The gloves are still on, kids.) I'm trying to talk this out here. Sure, what Devi says is mildly entertaining, but it's like a trainwreck. I don't wanna watch it any more (and I don't think I'm the only one). She doesn't need help in finding another platform to run her mouth. gordian knot's posts aren't fuel for discussion (hence all the off-topic remarks). I respect his opinion, but don't need to hear about Devi's 13,000th nervous breakdown. It's fine to keep track of things, but, as TheTransient and others mentioned, perhaps a blog is a more appropriate outlet for that.

I also feel that asking someone to stop posting what is tantamount to gossip in a PM isn't really all that polite.

Obviously, not everyone is going to share my views and I respect that. I just want my views known.
